Quoted from NFPA 1901, NFPA 1915 - 10.1 and NFPA 1911 The requirements for service testing are contained in "Standards for Service Testing of Fire Pump Systems on a Fire Apparatus". "According to this standard a pumper should be given a service test at least once a year or whenever it has undergone extensive pump or power train repair. These service tests are necessary to insure that the pumper will perform as it should and to check for defects that otherwise might go unnoticed until too late." |
